Hiya!

Nice to meet ya! I design products for the toy and gift industries during the day and at night I love to work on my own art projects. I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an Associate degree in Fashion Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Toy Design. I have been designing toys professionally now for over 20 years. Currently, I am a Freelance Design Consultant for my own company Tsai-Fi. I have worked on many toy lines and recently have expanded to working on commercial home goods and soft lines as well.

I created Tsai-Fi to introduce the world to the characters that orbit inside my head. When I am not working on toy projects, I love to create fun merch using characters that I have designed just for me. I have even collaborated with Urban Outfitters in the past on some tee shirt designs. I have also had my art and hand made plush creations displayed in art shows as well as published in a few art books. I also love to sew my own clothing, check out @made.by.miss.tsai to see some of my creations on Instagram. I am continually obsessed with learning how to work with new mediums and creating usable goods. Recently ceramics, leather purse design and sandal making have been some of my new artistic adventures. I also help to organize a local group of creative individuals to meet up a few times a year to learn different types of crafts.

I’m usually hanging out in my office (the happy little chaotic space pictured to the left) which is located in the suburbs between Washington DC and Baltimore. I live with my hubby, my two awesome kiddos and my Greyhound.
