It is so chilly today in LA for April….ok so it was in the upper 50′s. I guess its not that cold. Since the weather has been cooler. I have been indoors working on something really fantastic. I will post about it very soon. But while I was in the middle of this new project, I had Katkeshi’s on the brain. I felt the need to freshen up this delightful print with a new color way. March 8th, 2010Rings and Tattoos…..
February 28th, 2010I have been avidly watching the Winter Olympics. I loved the figure skating competition. Ever since I have been a little girl, it has been my favorite event. Except now when I watch the beauty of the ice skating programs, I am creating my own magic. I just finished sculpting my second ring. It is a Nerdy Birdy Ring and I just sent it to be molded. Yes, of course the owl has glasses. Check it out below, the eyes will be gems! As soon as it is ready, I will send out an update.
I also just received my brand new Smashed At Sea temporary tattoos. They are now available to purchase on my site. They are applied with water and easily removed with rubbing alcohol. These tattoos come with no pain and no permanence. Check them out below.

Wow, it is almost March…stay tuned for more updates….. I am working on more paintings and jewelry. xoxo!
Post V Day….
February 23rd, 2010The Socal area has been relatively warm during the winter season and I have been tempted to drop my art projects to go outside to play. Valentine’s Day has came and went. My hubby did a great job this year, I was really happy with his creative present. He surprised me with tickets to a Chinese Dance exposition. It was amazing. I am still in awe of how beautiful the cultural dances were.
The performances did inspire me and I am working on some new projects. I have sent out a new Dust Bunni ring that I sculpted to be molded. I am also working on a Nerdy Birdy ring too that will have gem eyes…… I love sculpting the jewelry pieces. Besides painting or drawing, it has quickly become my favorite media. Here is a sneak peek at the Dust Bunni ring. The images below show a big shot of the wax ring and a size comparison shot of the figures next to the ring to give an idea of scale. The ring is super tiny and delicate!

Simultaneously while working on the rings, I am working on an order for the Outgrown boutique in Los Angeles. They will be a brand new tsai-fi stockist. Super exciting!
I have some fun updates coming soon! Pls don’t forget to take advantage of the February Free Shipping sale. It ends at the end of the month.
xoxo!

New Year’s Resolutions…..why are they so hard to follow?
January 21st, 2010Happy New Year! This month has flown by….I had a ton of New Year’s resolutions that I haven’t even begun to stick with. I have only really followed one that I had defined a while ago. It was to do some new artwork that was a little different than what I have done so far. A lot of my artwork is usually purchased strictly to decorate bathrooms around the world because of the mermaid themes which is great …but I am dying to break into a different room. I have just finished a painting in a new series of art that put me in a whole new territory, the kitchen. I paired my Nerdy Birdies with some lovely gals that worship anything sweet. These girlies are all about creating pastries, candies, cookies, waffles, cupcakes, etc. Their motto is keepin’ it sweet. The Nerdy Birdys always make kitchen an interesting place to be. They are definitely a pinch mischievous and a spoonful of humor.
This is the first painting in the series called Keepin’ It Sweet. It is called Feathers and Sprinkles. The print is currently available on my site. The print is currently available in 8″ x 10″ The original piece is 15″ x 20″ Check it out below and click for more details:
More paintings from this series are coming soon! This painting was really fun and I can’t wait to start the more Keepin’ it Sweet artwork.
I have also been busy creating artwork for another tattoo. The artwork was commissioned by a client to be placed around an existing tattoo. The client requested very saturated exotic flowers that were to wind up the side of her back and surround an existing flower tattoo. The art is about 8″ x 12″ Here is the artwork, it came out really nice. I am definitely thinking of creating some more floral artwork for tsai-fi.
More jewelry is on the way too. I working on a new silver ring that should be ready in spring. Look for new jewelry, prints and other artwork coming soon.
I also wanted to share a customized Dust Bunni figure that was commissioned as a present. My cousin is a huge fan of my figures and had requested a Halloween themed Dust Bunni as her present for the holidays. Here she is with the pumpkin bunni figure. She is a cutie isn’t she?
Thanks for all of your support.

There’s a Chill in the Air…..
December 13th, 2009I can’t believe that it is almost time for the holidays and the new year is in a few weeks. ’10 will be here before any of us can blink. I have been so busy shopping, baking and prepping for the Christmas holiday. I feel like I have been buying to my hearts content. That is why I am going to have a final sale for the year to give everyone a little extra love during this time of the year. Pls enter the promotional code: LASTMINSALE when you check out and you will receive 15% of your entire purchase. The sale will last from December 14 – December 18. Pls remember December 18 is the last day to order your items to guarantee them by the holidays.
I love this time of year with all of the hustle and bustle. I experienced some of this holiday excitement at the Unique LA show that I vended at last week. The show was at the California Mart in downtown Los Angeles. The show was really amazing, there were 300 vendors which were all really talented. I was honored to vend among such a variety of artists and designers. Here are some pics of my booth.
Besides working on inventory for my show. I have also been busy creating some custom artwork for two fabulous clients that will be used for permanent tattoos. The artwork is below. As soon as I receive that final images of the tattoos, I will post them too.
The first artwork was created to commemorate the client’s daughters. She wanted a sea theme with 2 mermaids that symbolized her daughters around an anchor with a few sea creatures.
The second piece was created to fill in the areas around the clients two existing mermaid tattoos. The client had already had artwork by Pinkytoast (one of my fave artists) tattooed when she approached me about creating black/white art to finish her sea theme sleeve.
I hope all of you have a happy holiday and a great new year! Thanks for the support. Stay tuned for more art, jewelry and clothing in the upcoming year!
Love,
tsai-fi
