Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I posted, my life has been a bit busy with the holidays especially with my 2 year old and the fact that I am expecting a new little one in June. I have been a little more tired than usual.

I have a few updates to share. I had a lot of fun creating some homemade presents for my family. I have been wanting to experiment with felting for a long time and my Mother in Law loves mice so I made a custom mouse for her as my first project. I had bought a kit but quickly veered away off on my own after the basic form was created. I even added little spectacles and a sewn jacket (Thanks to my new Singer Machine!). At 5″ tall, he is a small in size but has a big heart! Here is a pic of the mouse.

The next homemade presents involved wooden bracelet blanks that I recently purchased. They have been sitting around gathering dust so I needed to do something wonderful with them. My cousins love jewelry so I thought hand painted bracelets would be a nice addition to their holiday presents. I taped off the design and used acrylic paint to create the bracelets. I might be adding these to be site later this year as part of a new collection. The owl in pic is from Bath and Body Works. Here is the bracelets pic:

I also wanted to share two fun updates that made me smile. My fuzzy snow bunny print was mentioned in a blog called Bunnykissd and a fellow fan just got a tattoo of my Nerdy Birdies. Here are the pics.

Happy Holidays!

It has been several months since I updated and I must apologize! Lots of exciting things! I bought my first house so the summer and fall have passed by in a whirl wind. I have been wrapped up in settling in. I have also been so busy with my freelance toy design business which has been absolutely amazing. I have also been doing some new Tsai-fi commissions and creating a new product line coming in 2013. I think things will calm down in the next few weeks and I will be able to concentrate more on Tsai-fi for a while!

I wanted to share a few of the commissions that I finished for my clients. The first is for a lovely client that requested a cupcake mistress design for her site and a cupcake logo. Here is the cupcake girl and logo.

Another project was a logo based on the client’s adorable marshfellow sculpture. I created a custom logo using her sculpture as reference. Here is the logo.

Aye……Pirate Mermaids!

I promised that I would have new art and here it is. I did a series of two Pirate Mermaids that will eventually have a third piece in the collection. They are apart of the world of the Smashed Sea so of course they like to drink and love to swim the sevens seas. Check out the Dolphin’s Treasure and the Parrot’s Sword Print below:

Summer is here….

Wow, it has been sooooooo long since I posted but I am still here working like crazy! I haven’t posted anything for a while. But fear not, I have been so busy with my freelance business, my little girl who is almost 1.5 now and miscellaneous commission projects with tsai-fi. I also just had a show at the Ballston Metro stop in Arlington,VA about a month ago which was so much fun! For more info about my next show, click on my home page in the events section. I am moving into my new home soon too, so it is about to become even busier in my already hectic world.

I just wanted to post a few things. I did a commission for a lovely company called Belle of Spades. The inspiration was a spade and my Mistress art. The request was for a logo and a cute girly for a tee graphic. This is the art that I did for the company:

I am also working on some tsai-fi artwork for a younger audience. I am going to launch some baby and kid friendly art later this year. Yes, I am totally inspired by my little girl and I have had numerous requests so there will be a little collection that will include invitations, name prints and much more.

There is lot’s more fun things coming like art and jewelry…. Stay tuned and I promise it won’t be too long before I post again.

Be Merry with a new Print. Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone has a great holiday this year and a very happy new year! I can’t wait to celebrate my little one’s first Christmas! She already had her first Hanukkah and she had a great time.

I have a new print to share with you. I was inspired by winter sweaters and all of the chunky knits that are everywhere right now. I wanted to create a set of girls that are all cozied up to their best pals while wearing their fave fun winter knits. There will be three prints in the series. The other two are coming soon. Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone’s ready for the big day on Monday! I am a huge Halloween fan! I am so excited this year to dress up my new little addition as well! We are going in a mother/daughter costume as Star Wars Leia with Endor outfit and Wicket the Ewok. It will be so fun to share Halloween with her for the first time. Ok, enough of my new Mommy adventures….

Speaking of Halloween, I also have a new spooky, dark mistress print to complete the collection that I wanted to introduce to you that are now available on my website and Etsy.

Fall is Here Again…

Its been too long since my last post. I have been trying to find a minute to update on what been going on with Tsai-fi but I am sure as some of you know an infant is a lot of work! Whew, I totally respect my Momma way more than ever. I love my little lady but between taking care of her and my day job, I am exhausted.

Now on to new stuff, I have been working on a new set of Mistresses. I have been inspired by Halloween so I wanted to do a new set of dark girlies. The first one is the Snake Mistress, Medusa is her more common name. I will be releasing two more before Halloween. Here is she is, you gotta check her out on my site. I will also be adding her to my Pingg site so she can be used for Halloween evites.

This weekend, I will be vending at Crafty Bastards again this year on October 1. The show is from 10am – 5pm in Adams Morgan, Washington DC. You gotta check it if you are in the hood! I am next to the Potbelly stand at the Show. See ya there!

Hot, Hot Summer!

It’s been way too long since my last post. I have not been keeping my New Year’s resolution to myself to post weekly. I blame it on taking on way too much because I am such an overachiever. What have I been busy with you ask. I have been burning the midnight oil on my freelance business, working on a new long term tsai-fi project that is top secret for a client, tattoo art for another client and a painting for a gallery show plus taking care of my little princess who is almost 6 mos. old. Time flies, it seems like a week ago that I was complaining about being 40 weeks pregnant. I will also be vending at my second crafty show of the year in a few weeks too.

Here is a sneak peek of the tattoo art that I am working on. It is not colored yet but I wanted to give you a first look at this fun piece. The client wanted a half sleeve on her upper left arm that was sea themed with two mermaids. Check it out below:

Next, I am working on a new painting for a gallery show in Los Angeles called Happy Creatures of the Forest which begins in September. I have a few ideas and I will be sharing sketches soon.
