Lanakai Kauai

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

It has has been a very intense last few weeks. But I finally had some time to finish up this new piece. It is the third in a series of paintings that I have done called Coconut Cuties. The title of this piece is Lanakai Kauai.

When I visited Kauai a few years ago, I was struck by the amazing natural beauty everywhere. The calm beaches and the sensational waterfalls were almost too much to take in. I was in love with this place and I did not want to leave. Another part of Kauai that I couldn’t get over were the wild chickens everywhere. I was so inspired. I have been waiting to create this painting for a while. I wanted to incorporate a paddle boarder that I saw in Nawiliwili Park with the chickens that I saw everywhere.

Chickens on Poipu Beach in Kauai, HI.

So after giving you the back story, here is the brand spank’in new painting. This little lady goes by the name of Lanikai Kauai. She lives to paddle board! She often picks up feathered passengers on her pineapple shopping trips. This print is now for sale. Click to check it out!

That’s it for now. More new art is coming soon.

Rings and Tattoos…..

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I have been avidly watching the Winter Olympics. I loved the figure skating competition. Ever since I have been a little girl, it has been my favorite event.  Except now when I watch the beauty of the ice skating programs, I am creating my own magic. I just finished sculpting my second ring. It is a Nerdy Birdy Ring and I just sent it to be molded. Yes, of course the owl has glasses. Check it out below, the eyes will be gems! As soon as it is ready, I will send out an update.

I also just received my brand new Smashed At Sea temporary tattoos. They are now available to purchase on my site. They are applied with water and easily removed with rubbing alcohol. These tattoos come with no pain and no permanence. Check them out below.

Wow, it is almost March…stay tuned for more updates….. I am working on more paintings and  jewelry. xoxo!

New Year’s Resolutions…..why are they so hard to follow?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Happy New Year! This month has flown by….I had a ton of New Year’s resolutions that I haven’t even begun to stick with. I have only really followed one that I had defined a while ago. It was to do some new artwork that was a little different than what I have done so far. A lot of my artwork is usually purchased strictly to decorate bathrooms around the world because of the mermaid themes which is great …but I am dying to break into a different room. I have just finished a painting in a new series of art that put me in a whole new territory, the kitchen. I paired my Nerdy Birdies with some lovely gals that worship anything sweet. These girlies are all about creating pastries, candies, cookies, waffles, cupcakes, etc. Their motto is keepin’ it sweet. The Nerdy Birdys always make kitchen an interesting place to be. They are definitely a pinch mischievous and a spoonful of humor.

This is the first painting in the series called Keepin’ It Sweet. It is called Feathers and Sprinkles. The print is currently available on my site. The print is currently available in 8″ x 10″ The original piece is 15″ x 20″ Check it out below and click for more details:
Feathers and SprinklesMore paintings from this series are coming soon! This painting was really fun and I can’t wait to start the more Keepin’ it Sweet artwork.

I have also been busy creating artwork for another tattoo. The artwork was commissioned by a client to be placed around an existing tattoo. The client requested very saturated exotic flowers that were to wind up the side of her back and surround an existing flower tattoo. The art is about   8″ x 12″ Here is the artwork, it came out really nice. I am definitely thinking of creating some more floral artwork for tsai-fi.

Floral Tattoo Artwork More jewelry is on the way too. I working on a new silver ring that should be ready in spring.  Look for new jewelry, prints and other artwork coming soon.

I also wanted to share a customized Dust Bunni figure that was commissioned as a present. My cousin is a huge fan of my figures and had requested a Halloween themed Dust Bunni as her present for the holidays. Here she is with the pumpkin bunni  figure. She is a cutie isn’t she?

Autumn Updates

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

I hope everything is going as planned in your busy little worlds. Although my life feels like a world wind,  I am excited that Halloween is around the corner. It is one of my favorite holidays. Whats not to like? Dressing up as someone else while being scared out of your mind and ingesting tons of delicious candy….Puh-lease I will take any excuse to do all of the above….wouldn’t you?

Speaking of being a little wild, I just saw Where the Wild Things Are. Absolutely Fabulous. I want to see it again and I am dying to buy the soundtrack. I hope all of you will get around to seeing how amazing it is. The story line is rich and emotional. The visual effects and puppetry are so smooth. I loved seeing one of my Favorite books come to life.

I wanted to also share a little tsai-fi news too. I have a brand new silk screen print. I had it printed professionally since I am just not that good at silk screen printing. Believe me, the screen printing company really did an amazing job with my artwork. Check it out below, it is called The Sweetest Blossom. Click on image to see more.

After Crafty Bastards..

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Just got back from Crafty Bastards in Washington DC! The show was last Saturday October 3rd. It was a fabulous day, not a cloud in the sky. Even though rain showers were expected. The show was super successful and extremely crowded. DC definitely loves indie artists/crafters which was great news for all of the vendors. Here is a pic of my booth below.

After a week of some much needed R and R. I wanted to introduce some new items that are now available on my site. Since it is fall, I thought it was a perfect time to create some seven new sterling silver acorn necklaces. Check them out below:
Acorn Necklaces
I also have been hard at work at creating the first set of tsai-fi earrings. They are cute jellyfish and they are made of sterling silver. Sterling silver chains dangle from each adorable earring. I hope you all approve. They are already coveted by family and friends…..aka they want them for Christmas. :)
Jellyfish Earrings
Well that about wraps it up! My goal is to update this blog at least every week with new items, events and other tsai-fi info. Have a fabulous week!
