I am working on some super sweet new items based on an inspiration board that I put together, below  is the mood board that I put together. For those of you who are asking what is a mood board, they are a collage of pictures of existing artwork and products that convey a theme that is used for inspiration for a design collection.   I am very inspired by the 70′s right now. You will see colors and themes in the new items that are directly pulled from this time period but updated so that they are contemporary. Here is the mood board below.

The first new item is hot off the presses. It is a necklace made of cute wooden dolls that have fabulous little tassel dresses. Check it out. The Wishing Doll necklace is currently for sale on my website. The necklace is made of  fabric and chain. The wooden dolls are hand painted and their tassel dresses are handmade too. You can purchase the deluxe necklace that has 5 dolls or a necklace with just one doll on it. The individual doll pendant is on sterling chain. Check them out here.

I am also working on a brand new necklace called Love Birds, here is a sneak peek. Its not ready yet but at least here’s a little sneak peek. This will be a leather and wood necklace. The necklace will be available in a few weeks on my site. I will send a blog update with all of the colors that will be available.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned for more new jewelry and artwork coming soon. Have a fabulous September!

Lanakai Kauai

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

It has has been a very intense last few weeks. But I finally had some time to finish up this new piece. It is the third in a series of paintings that I have done called Coconut Cuties. The title of this piece is Lanakai Kauai.

When I visited Kauai a few years ago, I was struck by the amazing natural beauty everywhere. The calm beaches and the sensational waterfalls were almost too much to take in. I was in love with this place and I did not want to leave. Another part of Kauai that I couldn’t get over were the wild chickens everywhere. I was so inspired. I have been waiting to create this painting for a while. I wanted to incorporate a paddle boarder that I saw in Nawiliwili Park with the chickens that I saw everywhere.

So after giving you the back story, here is the brand spank’in new painting. This little lady goes by the name of Lanikai Kauai. She lives to paddle board! She often picks up feathered passengers on her pineapple shopping trips. This print is now for sale. Click to check it out!

That’s it for now. More new art is coming soon.

Mother May I?………

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

May, the month of Mother’s Day and the month of flowers has been busy straight from the start. Although, finally it seems things are just starting to calm down a bit and I get back to some new jewelry and paintings that are waiting to be worked on.

I vended at the Unique LA independent design show in Los Angeles, California last weekend April 24 and 25. It was a fun weekend, met a lot of fabulous Angelenos and saw a ton of super cute stuff. I also noshed on some delicious handmade ice cream sandwiches with a balsamic and fig ice cream. Here are some pics of my booth.

I have been also working on a custom piece for a client inspired by my Mistress collection. I have finished and I wanted to share the art piece with you. The client had commissioned a drawing of her and her Jack Russell Trixie in the Mistress style. She had asked for pearls, butterflies and bubbles. Here is the artwork below. The art piece is 12″ x  16″ and it is done in chalk pencil.  The piece is called the Trixie Mistress.

That’s it for now. I will have some more updates later this week. Thanks again for all of your support!

Love,

Tsai-fi

Rings and Tattoos…..

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I have been avidly watching the Winter Olympics. I loved the figure skating competition. Ever since I have been a little girl, it has been my favorite event.  Except now when I watch the beauty of the ice skating programs, I am creating my own magic. I just finished sculpting my second ring. It is a Nerdy Birdy Ring and I just sent it to be molded. Yes, of course the owl has glasses. Check it out below, the eyes will be gems! As soon as it is ready, I will send out an update.

I also just received my brand new Smashed At Sea temporary tattoos. They are now available to purchase on my site. They are applied with water and easily removed with rubbing alcohol. These tattoos come with no pain and no permanence. Check them out below.

Wow, it is almost March…stay tuned for more updates….. I am working on more paintings and  jewelry. xoxo!
